It can be hard to move on. However, once you do, you feel light enough to accomplish anything! That's why I made this track. I hope you find it useful!
lyrics
Hello again, and welcome to my meditation for letting go.
Living a life of non-attachment is hard but so, so worth it. In releasing yourself and cutting the cords binding you to negative thinking, you can have real peace and happiness.
Meditation is a great way to learn to release and move on. It keeps us here- in the now.
You can live without attachment and still appreciate that which you've been given. The only difference will be that you don't depend on any external circumstances to experience great happiness.
The greatest happiness comes from within you, in your mind. You can find this today and any day you want to...
Think of all that you've become attached to. Think of all those who you've idolized and built up to be better or worse than yourself in your head. This could be celebrities, successful people, friends, siblings....
This collection doesn't need to be complete, just know what is affecting you most as of right now.
When you've got your list of attachments, go through each of them with me. With each intentional meditation, we can let go of more and more. Often times, you'll find that you've subconsciously become attached to little things without even realizing it.
Do you know why you've become attached? Look for common traits or end results among your attachments. Feel how they affect you considering them.
What are you looking for? Why do you lean on and depend on the things you do?
When I contemplate on the things, and often people, I become attached to, it's because I'm searching for a connection.
I forget how interconnected I am, how ingrained I am with the rest of matter. I am part of a complex system that is connected to all of the humans, animals, and plants in the world. I am connected to an endless source of energy, if I tap into it and choose not to try and take it from others. I can have an endless amount of energy for myself and to share with others, without any outside source. Its within us.
Visualize your attachments now. See them in your mind. See the cords connecting you. The complexity of these bonds and how prevalent they are in your life will affect how thick and hard to break the cords are.
See yourself loosening them with each exhale, looser and looser.
Continue this breath until each one can be let go.
Wait 13 seconds
Now if you still need more time, feel free to pause right here. However, if you're ready to, repeat the following with me
I know why I've become attached to things in the past
REPEAT
I understand these attachments have not given me what I want
REPEAT
I know that to get what I want, all I have to do is search inside myself.
REPEAT
In the future, I will recognize pre-existing or forming attachments and stop them from controlling my life. I can and will let them go.
REPEAT
I know I need nothing external to experience happiness.
REPEAT
Now contemplate how you feel, physically. Observe how you feel having released. Be mindful of your breath while you do so
Thank you for listening today. I hope you found this helpful, and if you liked it, feel free to check out my other meditations.
